I'm not saying I oppose the sentiments of "I Can't Breathe" or "Black Lives Matter."
I just believe God is ushering us toward a season of unusual understanding and reconciliation.
A season where all Americans will be asked of the Lord to look inside and ask, "Am I willing to forgive?" Or, "Am I willing to admit I have a hard heart toward people who don't look like me?"
Or...
"Do I have a hard heart toward law enforcement?"
These are the words I wrote the morning of June 1st after the protests descended into damaging riots in downtown Greensboro:
I've been up all night...
I've been praying for days...
I've wept...
I've struggled...
But I've arrived at this conclusion...
LOVE IS WHAT WILL WIN AGAINST RACISM AND DIVISION...
We must love like Jesus.
I was talking with my wife about this...
I want to put a dent in the devil's plan...
I designed this t-shirt to make a bold statement...

The bible says clearly...
‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
Jesus also says we should forgive...
He says we should pray for those who persecute us...
He says we should overcome evil with good...
With all that boiling in my heart...
I've been praying for our nation...
Especially my black brothers and sisters...
That we will not harden our hearts...
It's hard...
But the Lord can preserve our ability to love with authenticity.
We will continue to fight for justice...
But we also must fight for love...
