5787: Renew the Kingdom, Sharpen the Sword

Man, I am so excited because we are digging a little deeper into the Hebrew New Year 5787.

The Lord has been teaching me something about the number seven recently, and it has absolutely blown my mind. There is so much connected to this number, especially as we move toward 2027, but I want to stay focused on what I believe the Lord is saying to us right now.

There is so much to be excited about in 5787.

This is a year of glory, renewal, sharpening, and a greater measure of the presence of God.

A Hunger for God

Lord, we are in Your hands. You are our dwelling place from generation to generation.

We are a peculiar people. There is something about us that is different. The Kingdom of God is not like this world, and there is no way we can make it that way.

So I pray that we revel in the difference. I pray that we revel in the unique nature of Your Kingdom and Your ways.

Your ways are the only way.

Here we are, Lord, seeking Your ways, pursuing Your heart, desiring to be in step with You and to walk with You as Enoch walked with You.

We want to please You.

Have Your way today as You teach us Your heart.

In Jesus' name, amen.

Beyond the Veil

When I first released the word about 5787 being a year of the glory of God, I realized afterward that I had not really shown you why the Spirit of God brought me to that interpretation.

And I almost kicked myself over it.

But the Lord ministered to me that this was supposed to come in pieces. Bite-sized pieces. Something we could receive and digest little by little.

So let me show you something powerful about this year.

I believe 5787 is a year in which the Lord is inviting you beyond the veil into a greater measure of His presence.

God has always invited us into His presence. That part is not new. But God does things in measures, and measures can change from season to season.

There is a greater measure available to you this year if you pursue it.

Renew the Kingdom

Go with me to 1 Samuel 11:14.

“Then Samuel said to the people, ‘Come, let us go to Gilgal and renew the kingdom there.’”  1 Samuel 11:14

Think about what Samuel just said to an entire nation: Let us renew the kingdom.

Who needs the Kingdom renewed in their life?

The Lord lives to refresh you. He lives to fill you again and again. He brings new wine. He brings things in season. He wants you to bear fruit in your season.

God has a way of renewing His people.

And what makes this passage so powerful is where Samuel tells them to go.

Gilgal.

Gilgal was a place of worship. It was a place of the altar.

That connects directly with what the Lord has been speaking to us.

In 5786, we talked about the anchor. Then the Lord began speaking about the altar. God was bringing us back to the altar as an anchor for our lives.

The altar is the place where we meet with Him.

It is the place where we behold Him.

It is the place where we put our souls into His hands again and again, allowing our lives to become a fragrance that pleases Him and brings Him rest.

A Greater Measure of Glory

I believe we are in a time when God desires His people to experience greater measures of His glory.

His splendor.

His magnificence.

His excellence.

His beauty.

God is Spirit, and He reveals Himself by the Spirit. We can see evidence of Him in material things, but we receive Him in our spirit.

There is a pouring that God has for you.

Think about rain.

A rainstorm can begin with a drizzle. Then it becomes a steady rain. Then it becomes a downpour. Sometimes the rain becomes so heavy that you can barely see through it.

The glory of God can be experienced in measures like that.

It is not that God is absent right now. He is with you right now.

But throughout Scripture, there are moments when God reveals Himself in such extraordinary measure that people can barely function.

His presence becomes overwhelming.

His love becomes overwhelming.

There are different measures for different seasons, different moments, and different stages of our lives.

And God knows exactly what we need in His manifold wisdom.

Sharpen the Sword

Here is where this becomes even more powerful.

That word translated renew carries the idea of making something new again, and there is a picture here of sharpening.

God wants to renew the Kingdom in you.

And He wants to sharpen you.

A kingdom is a domain ruled by a king.

Our King is Jesus.

We belong to His Kingdom, and there is a responsibility upon us to manifest what is like God into the earth.

But He does it inside of us first.

He fills us so that we can overflow.

That is how revival works.

Revival begins with the people of God being filled, renewed, transformed, and intentionally made more like Jesus.

Jesus is the living expression of the lavish goodness, love, and glory of God.

We are light because He is light.

We reflect Him.

We pursue Him.

And then we carry what we have received from Him wherever we go.

But you cannot do that simply by saying you have faith.

You have to get with Him.

You have to sit at His feet.

You have to explore.

You have to encounter Him.

You have to open the container and allow yourself to be filled by the power and Spirit of God.

You Are a Weapon in God's Hands

Scripture describes God's people as arrows, and there is another picture here:

You are a weapon in the hands of God.

If you are in His hand, you are not there simply to exist.

You are there to be useful.

You are there to help bring territory that has been under darkness into the Kingdom of God.

So this sword has to be sharpened.

And what happens when you sharpen a sword?

It becomes more precise.

It becomes more effective.

It can cut through what needs to be cut through.

It can get beneath the surface and reach the root.

But something else happens when a sword is sharpened.

It shines.

When you sharpen and polish a sword, it begins to reflect.

There is a revealing that happens.

God wants to sharpen you in His presence so that you become more effective, but also so that you more clearly reflect Him.

The Altar Is Where the Sharpening Happens

God wants to sharpen you in His presence at the altar during this season of glory.

Samuel said:

“Come, let us go to Gilgal and renew the kingdom there.” 1 Samuel 11:14

Renewal happened at the altar.

And you need an altar in your life.

You need a place where you meet with the Lord.

You need a time.

A morning time.

An evening time.

A place where you meet with Him simply to meet with Him.

Not always to ask questions.

Not always because you want something.

Sometimes you come simply because you want to be with Him.

He is your Father.

Jesus is your brother.

The Holy Spirit is your Comforter and friend.

There is a relationship that brings us into the experience of the glory of God.

5787 and the Letter Zayin

Now look at how this connects to the number seven.

In ancient Hebrew tradition, letters are also associated with numerical values.

The number seven is associated with the Hebrew letter Zayin.

And Zayin carries the imagery of a weapon or sword.

There is even a crown associated with its traditional written form.

Think about this.

In this season, God is not only sharpening us.

He is crowning us with His glory.

There is so much in this that I could probably write an entire book about 5787.

But God does not merely want you to hear my revelation.

He wants you to have encounters for yourself.

He wants you to receive revelation for yourself.

He wants you to experience His presence for yourself.

Submit, Be Sharpened, and Conquer

We can talk about revival all day.

We can say we are in Christ. We can say we believe in Jesus. We can talk about taking territory from darkness.

But the pattern of Scripture is that we first submit ourselves to God.

We humble ourselves.

We resist the devil.

We allow God to meet us.

We allow Him to sharpen us.

We allow Him to transform us and renew our minds.

Then, because we become more like Him, we begin to walk as conquerors.

This has always been about relationship.

Everything God does in your life is ultimately designed to bring you closer to Him.

One of my favorite truths in Scripture is that if we are going to boast in anything, we should boast that we understand and know the Lord.

It is about knowing Him.

God is inviting you to the altar to know Him and to be known by Him.

Fans or Followers?

God has been teaching me recently about the difference between a fan and a follower.

There are a lot of fans of Jesus.

They wear the chains.

They wear the shirts.

They say the words.

But following Jesus is different.

A follower has a relationship with the Lord that actually impacts the environment around them.

So many people are stuck because they have never learned how to sit with the Lord and simply let Him pour into them.

They have never learned how to sit in His presence like sitting in a rainstorm.

This takes pursuit.

It takes prioritization.

It takes adoration.

It means putting an exclamation mark on your relationship with Him.

I am not merely in Christ. I am for Him.

I am all about Him.

He is my everything.

I believe this is something God is doing throughout the Body of Christ.

He is forming children who want to be with Him instead of merely talking about Him.

Sit in the Rain

I prophesy into your hearing in the name of Jesus, by the permission of the Holy Ghost, that during this year of 5787, from September 2026 into September 2027, you are going to learn how to sit at the feet of God.

You are going to be poured on by the Spirit of the living God.

He is going to pour His heart upon you.

His Spirit.

His mind.

His desires.

His delight.

This is the seventh year.

And God rested on the seventh day.

God is going to teach you about the rest that is found in Him.

He is going to teach you about the pleasure that is found in Him.

He is going to teach you what it means to be pleasing to Him.

Learning Sabbath Every Day

Some people are going to experience Sabbath in ways they never have before.

And I am not only talking about a particular day of the week.

You are going to experience Sabbath on a Monday.

You are going to experience Sabbath on a Thursday.

Because when the veil was torn and Jesus declared that it was finished, you were invited into the rest of God.

You can carry that rest into your home.

You can carry Sabbath into your marriage.

You can carry it into your relationships.

You can carry it into your church.

You can carry it into your workplace.

How?

By going into His presence and allowing Him to renew the Kingdom within you.

Let Him crown you with glory.

God made you in His image.

You are not merely a person of flesh. You are a spiritual person, and you were created to reveal His glory wherever you go.

But first He must renew that glory in you.

Daily.

Because throughout the day, we leak.

We need renewal.

Go to the Well Again

We need more.

We need refreshing every day.

So go to the well again.

And again.

And again.

Let the Lord renew the Kingdom in you.

Let Him sharpen the sword.

Let Him polish you until you gleam.

Let Him fill you until His light and His presence become visible in the places where He has planted you.

This is the word of the Lord to you for the Hebrew year 5787.

A Closing Blessing

I pray that you receive the glory of the Lord in this season.

I pray that you receive His sharpening.

I pray that you gleam and shine and reveal His light and His presence wherever you go.

I pray that the Kingdom of God is renewed within you again and again as you return to the altar and allow Him to pour into you.

May the Lord bless you with His glory.

May He crown you with His presence.

May He sharpen you for His purposes.

And may you know the rest, pleasure, and renewal that are found only in Him.

In the name of Jesus, amen.

God bless you!
